Weekly update - 11 November 2024


Summoner mutations are here~

  • Unwanted Guests is the 17th mutation and it's the first one which can be considered of the summoner type: every few seconds, it summons 2 (and more) summons which shoots to nearby enemies. These summons only last for a brief time (indicated by the progress bar underneath them).
  • Poisonous Mushrooms is another summoner mutation, currently WIP: every few seconds the player spawns 1 mushroom which, after a short delay, chases the nearest enemy and explodes for moderate damage and applies a strong poison.

My goal is to have 20 mutations for the "final" demo, so 2 more to go. Ideally the game will have even more mutations for its launch. 

The second biome, The Desert, is almost finished: it features new enemies, such as the Scavenger which is a melee enemy who gets enraged from time to time, gaining a huge speed steroid. 

I still have to make a few key things to call consider The Desert finished: a miniboss (like The Knight from The Ruins), and 3x bosses.

I'll need the 3 bosses to start complete the basic game-flow: the player begins the game by entering The Ruins 1-1, finds the gateway to the next stage, defeat the boss so it's possible to advance to the next stage, which will be The Ruins 1-2. Then The Ruins 1-3. After completing the third stage of the same biome, the player will advance to The Desert 2-1, and so on.

I've 4 biomes for the launch: The Ruins -> The Desert -> The Jungle -> WIP.

Enough with the devlog, I need to get back to coding.
