Weekly update - 28 October 2024


This past week was mostly on code, playtesting and bug fixing. 

I've finalized the Mischevious Orbs and added 2 new weapons: 

  • Resonator: creates shockwaves on the ground that last for aprox ~2 seconds, dealing damage to enemies. The shockwaves are generated randomly around the player (from -60 to +60 starting from the player's position, both axys) and on a high frequency, which gets better each time the mutation gets a level up. Its evolution grants a slowing effect upon dealing damage;
  • Tainted Heart: emits an aura periodically which knock-backs enemies (the first aura-like mutation that does knock-back) and does damage, not only scaling from the mutation's base damage and player's ATTACK, but it scales from player's HP as well. However, every time the aura goes off (~3 seconds), it does 5 damage to the player. Its evolution grants DEFENSE scaling to the mutation: it's the best mutation for tank-oriented builds, granting an aura attack which scales off ATTACK, HP and DEFENSE. Its offset by the self-inflicted damage to the player and the rather big cooldown time;

I'll be working on a couple more weapons (something summoner-related) this week and hopefully I'll be able to finalize the second stage, the desert stage. I need to update the playable demo as well! It's been a minute.
